I moved to Winsford from Liverpool at the age of 6 years. I learnt to swim at the outdoor baths at Winsford as that was the only pool available at the time. My family spent many long summer days at the outdoor baths we would take a picnic and stay the whole day. At the age of 8 years I went to Northwich baths for the first time with my primary school for a once weekly swimming lesson. My friends and I would catch the bus from Winsford to Northwich on a saturday and go for a swim, we would always call at Seafarer for a bag of chips to enjoy on the journey home.
